vroom vroom….

This month’s topic at school is transportation. It’s always a fun topic because kids love trains, planes and automobiles more than just about anything else.

Here are some musical bits I made a couple of years ago. We use them in our classes to get up and move around and pretend to be driving, flying, riding, etc.

Feel free to download and share them!

Bicycle
Train
Rocket
Airplane

These are great! Thank you for sharing them.

Perhaps you will eventually find the time to create one for a bus, a boat, a motorbike and a subway to complete the set.

I wish I was as creative as you are!

    Thanks Claudia!

You might be only person that has ever downloaded these :)

But I agree…they are a lot of fun. Kids love moving to them. A bus and a boat should be no problem…a motorbike and a subway…hmmmm….any suggestions?

hummmm… I would try to convey the idea of speed (esp. concerning motorbikes. That’s what the boys like about it I think).
Ditto for the subway (but I think trains are actually faster in Japan than subways, no?) with doors opening and closing.

By the way, I bought SSS2 on iTunes today and “Who stole the cookie…” was a major hit!

Thanks! Glad to hear it went over well. As soon as we get our phonics CD website ready, I’m going to focus more on Super Simple Songs. One thing I’ll be putting up is some cards for Who Took the Cookie. A parent in Germany gave us a great idea. The kids tend to figure out who has the cookie quickly. So, make a bunch of similar size cards that all say “Not Me!” on them and only one with a picture of a cookie. Put a cards under every student (face down). That way, no students will know if they have the cookie until their name is called and they look.
I have some cards made already. I’ll have them up by the end of June. Or if you want to send me an email I can send them to you sooner.

And thanks for the tips on the transport songs! Will post them on here or sss.com when I make them.

The cards are a great idea. I had no problems “fooling” the young ones but the older ones easily unmasked the cookie.

I’d love to have the cards (but I can also wait since you are very busy). In any case, here’s my email:

Thank you for sharing your transport sounds, they are brilliant!!! I will definitely be using them as soon as we do our transport topic, and I am sure that my children are going to enjoy them and have loads of fun. A good suggestion from Claudia, I would also love to have a few more sounds.
